AMD Hydraulic Bar and Billet Shears offer a wide range of features. The hydraulic ram construction eliminates clutches, brakes, eccentrics and gear trains. Machine overload is eliminated and downtime for maintenance and repairs is minimized.

Superior Design… The unique design of the heavy duty tool assembly allows quick tool change and prevents scale build up in Knife Pockets. In addition, it is adaptable to special shapes and heavy structural sections. The patented hydraulic circuitry that controls the Back Support and Hold Down System provides the best quality shear cut available, eliminates "bar slap", and produces longer knife life. This feature is offered on both our original four post shear and on our two post design. The two post shear also offers a direct acting hold down and back support system, and quick change tooling. Our Shear's low shock design and simplicity allows for easy installation without elaborate foundation modifications. Machine sizes range from 110 to 1700 Tons or larger.

Quick Change Knife Blades… With a turn of a switch the operator can release and change the knife blades in minutes without the aid of hand tools. Hydraulically operated clamping, with safety locking device makes changing knife blades quicker than ever before.

Knife Blade Gap Adjustment… With this feature the operator can quickly adjust the knife blade gap with just a turn of a micrometer type dial, located on the side of the shear. The setup time between product change over, is substantially reduced and eliminates the use of knife shims and any hand tools.

Utilizing an integrated gauging and bar feeding system that enables it to achieve the highest possible degree of accuracy in close tolerance shearing. The AMD hydraulic bar and billet shear delivers clean, square cuts and accurate lengths on a full range of metals including; non-ferrous, stainless steel and on many alloys previously considered
un-shearable.
